Additional Homeless Assistance Program (HAP) funding is available beyond the amounts previously awarded through the Spring 2026 Joint Funding process. This unexpected funding is anticipated to be received in November 2026 and must be expended by June 30, 2027. Most recently, two-day centers in the City of Lancaster closed, leaving an immediate need for daytime supports for individuals experiencing homelessness. As cold weather approaches, addressing this system / program gap is increasingly important. This funding has been set aside to help restore access to safe, welcoming daytime spaces during the winter months. The goal is to strengthen the community's ability to respond to immediate needs, reduce the risks associated with exposure to cold weather, and support the health, safety, and well-being of individuals experiencing homelessness.
