About the Land Bank Authority
Since 2017, The Lancaster County Land Bank Authority’s mission is to deter blight and to return vacant property to productive status using a unified, predictable, and transparent process, thereby revitalizing neighborhoods and strengthening the County’s tax base.
Designed as a tool to fight blight, the Lancaster County Land Bank Authority will complement programs currently available to the Lancaster County Redevelopment Authority under Urban Redevelopment Law (35 P.S. §1701 et. al.) and the Vacant Property Reinvestment Board (35 P.S. §1712.1).
Any Municipality in Lancaster County, exclusive of the City of Lancaster, can choose to join the Land Bank by entering into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement. If you are part of a municipal government interested in joining the Land Bank, please visit the page “for municipalities.” If you are a contractor or developer interested in working on Land Bank projects, please visit the page "for developers"
