Lancaster County Housing Authority, Pennsylvania, plans to accept online applications for Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Housing starting on October 2, 2023, at 7:30 am ET and ending on October 5, 2023, at 4:30 pm ET. During the application period, you can access the online application at waitlistcheck.com/PA835 and enter an application at any time of day or night. We will accept only a single application from any one household, so submitting multiple applications will not increase your chances of receiving housing assistance. Only the first application submitted per household will be considered.  Please note that you will be required to create an account and have a valid Gmail address in order to submit an application. A link to create a free Gmail account will be included on the website for your convenience.

Five Hundred (500) applications for inclusion on the waiting list are being selected randomly, by lottery.  The day and time an application is submitted during the application period will have no effect on whether the application is selected in the lottery and will not determine whether an applicant will receive an offer of housing from this agency. Anyone who submits an application during the application period will have an equal opportunity to be placed on the waiting list.

Applicants selected in the lottery are not guaranteed eligibility for housing. Being selected by the lottery only means that the selected applications will be placed on the waiting list. Once on the waiting list, you may receive an offer of a voucher, but only if you are eligible for subsidized housing under Federal law and only when vouchers become available through this agency.

If an application is not selected in the lottery, it will not be placed on any current or future waiting list. The only opportunity for inclusion on a future waiting list for a Housing Choice Voucher with our agency will be to reapply when the waiting list is re-opened again.

Anyone interested in applying that does not have access to a computer and the online application is encouraged to apply at your local library (Library System of Lancaster County) or the following locations:  Brightside Opportunities Center, The Factory Ministries, Tenfold, Good Samaritan Services, or CrossNet Ministries.

If you have a disability where reasonable accommodation to allow you equal access to the application process may be needed, please contact the Lancaster County Housing Authority at 717-394-0793 to request accommodation no later than 09/25/2023.

The Lancaster County Housing Authority does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, familial status or source of income.  AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY HOUSING AGENCY

Zona Este de Horario (Eastern Time).

The Factory Ministries, Tenfold, Good Samaritan Services, Ministerios CrossNet.

As a recipient of U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding, Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (LCHRA) must submit performance reports for the programs receiving funding. HUD then determines if LCHRA is in compliance and can continue to implement and administer the programs for which funding is received. This is notated in the Program Year Review Letter. The 2022 Program Year Review Letter is available to read here.
